The design of the ice box is to keep the high rpm hp curve, throttle response, and easy filter access of a short ram intake, while mating it to a cold air intake source that has little to no restriction. Normal short rams get some of the benefits cancelled out from being in the hot engine bay air, so its best to mate it to a cold air source.

It made nice low end to mid range torque and a responsive throttle response due to the high flow filter. I like it better than those cold air filter on a stick setup. Comptech Icebox Question.
